I feel that there are many similarities and differences between the ITES and the other ES of other subject areas. While both follow the Revised Blooms Taxonomy (RBT), using the same verbage, the ITES and other ES focus on different core subject areas.
For instance ITES focus on the main core areas that would pertain to Information and Technology.
- Sources of Information (SI)
- Information and Text (IT)
- Technology as a Tool (TT)
- Research Process (RP)
- Safety and Etical Issues (SE)
Where other core areas focus on the core areas in their subjects such as Physical Science and Natrual Science.
While these topics may be different the verbage used in each core area is the same according to RBT. Such verbs include:
- Analyze
- Revise
- Classify
- Categorize
- Evaluate
- Understand
- Apply
- Design.
No matter the subject you visit the verbage and ultimate thinking process is the same, the subject area is different.
Tami, I guess great minds think alike. We have the same template and similar comments. The first thing I noticed was the common words in the standards. The skills of applying, evaluating, etc. are used in all areas.
